What installation adds

Fitting a telescopic bollard means cutting the drive, digging an 850mm hole, setting the sleeve in concrete and making good. Our installation charge is £200 per bollard within our local area and £250 per bollard elsewhere in mainland UK, plus a travel charge based on the distance from Swadlincote. There is no separate call-out charge on top.

More than one bollard gets cheaper per post

Most driveways need more than one. The travel is charged once for the visit and both the bollard and the fitting rate reduce as the count goes up, so the second and third posts cost noticeably less than the first. Ramco 70s fitted in Birmingham:

Quantity Total fitted Cost per bollard You save
1 £359.99 £359.99
2 £683.98 £341.99 £36.00
3 £997.97 £332.66 £82.00
4 £1,295.76 £323.94 £144.20
6 £1,849.06 £308.18 £310.88

What a typical driveway costs

  • Single-width drive, one post, DIY: £159.99 for a Ramco 70, plus a day's work and a bag of postcrete.
  • Single-width drive, one post, fitted: around £360 to £490 depending on where you are.
  • Double drive, three posts, fitted: around £1,000 in the Midlands, more with distance or a heavier model.
  • Drive you use several times a day: an automatic bollard from £1,899.99 plus installation and a power supply.

Why the cheapest bollard isn't always the cheapest decision

A £112.99 fold-down bollard bolts to the surface, so its strength is the strength of what it is bolted to. A telescopic post concreted 850mm into the ground resists a vehicle being driven at it. If you are protecting a van, a caravan or a car that is a known theft target, the extra £50 to £100 buys a genuinely different level of resistance. If you simply want to stop other people parking on your drive, the fold-down does that job for the lowest cost.

Costs after you've bought

  • Warranty: 1 year on DIY supply-only, 2 years on product and installation when we fit it.
  • Replacement lock pack: £44.99.
  • Lock change or lift-out visit: £140.00.
  • Impact damage: replacing the lift-up part only is £180.00 on a Ramco 70; a full bollard replacement runs £545.00 to £660.00 depending on model. Impact repairs are completed in a single visit.
  • Running costs: none on a manual bollard. There is nothing to power and nothing to service beyond keeping the sleeve clear.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a driveway bollard cost in the UK?

Between £112.99 and £437.98 supply-only for a manual bollard, and from £359.99 fitted including the post, labour and VAT. Automatic rising bollards start at £1,899.99 before installation.

How much does it cost to install a driveway bollard?

£200 per bollard in our local area and £250 per bollard elsewhere in mainland UK, plus travel from Swadlincote. There is no call-out charge on top.

Is it cheaper to fit a driveway bollard yourself?

Yes, if you are confident cutting the drive and working with concrete: you save the fitting and travel charge, so a Ramco 70 costs £159.99 instead of roughly £360. DIY installations carry a 1-year warranty rather than the 2 years we give on our own fitted work.

Do driveway bollards get cheaper if I buy several?

Yes. Both the bollard price and the fitting rate reduce with quantity and travel is charged once per visit, so three fitted Ramco 70s work out at £332.66 each against £359.99 for one.

Are your prices inclusive of VAT?

Yes. Every price we show includes VAT, and we issue a VAT invoice with every order.
